This altercation unfolded in the Naya Nagar area of Mira Road, near Mumbai, and has led to the immediate arrest of five individuals by the local authorities.

The incident transpired at approximately 11 p.m. on a Sunday, just days before the much-anticipated ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony scheduled for January 22. As reported by police officials, members of the Hindu community were rallying in 3-4 vehicles, vociferating slogans in the Naya Nagar area. This stirred a confrontation with individuals from the Muslim community, resulting in an escalating argument.

Police Intervention and Subsequent Actions

Reacting promptly to the deteriorating situation, law enforcement swiftly deployed vehicles to the scene. The police intervened and apprehended several individuals involved in the dispute. Jayant Bajbale, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), provided insights into the incident, stating, “After this, an argument started with some people belonging to the Muslim community. Seeing the deteriorating situation, the police vehicle immediately reached the spot and took some people into custody.”

The DCP emphasized that the situation has been brought under control, and a flag march was conducted in the area. The Naya Nagar Police registered a case against the arrested individuals and initiated an investigation into the matter.

The police, cognizant of the potential spread of rumors, issued an appeal to residents of Mira Road to disregard such misinformation. Chairman of the Ayodhya Ram Temple Construction Committee, Nripendra Mishra, shared insights into the future construction plans of the temple. He highlighted the significance of the day before the ‘Pran Pratistha’ ceremony, stating, “Today is the day before Pran Pratistha and is very important for all of us… We will start our work from 23rd January with new enthusiasm and a new commitment so that the entire temple can be built in 2024.
